LEARNING PROGRAMME

Individual Planning for effective Learning Outcomes

Based on everyday individual observations and interactions of your child, our teachers develop a customised learning programme and set goals for the child considering individual strengths and interests. These include learning stories, learning experiences and photos.

This information is shared with the teaching team at meetings and information is put into child’s individual Portfolio.

The work is also displayed around the centre.

The portfolios are readily available for Parents, Caregivers, teachers and children to view.

Our teaching practices reflect the multi-cultural heritage of our community and learning is seen as a two way path: home – childcare – home, providing a continuous learning which is achieved by including parents aspirations and cooperating parents/whanau.

Our Learning Programme:

Your child's learning & wellbeing is our focus..

The centre is divided into 3 rooms based on age:
Babies- Little Miracles
3m to 2 Years
Toddlers Tuataras
2 to 3.5 Years
Preschoolers – Taniwhas
3.5 to 5 Years
Children are allowed to freely visit the different rooms. Children play together in our large Kiwi backyard style playground.

The younger children learn skills from the older children and the older ones take pride in teaching their peers new things. Our children are also familiar with teachers in the other rooms as they have mixed interactions between rooms creating a happy family environment.

A quality learning programme across our 3 rooms provides children with lots of learning opportunities in a wide range of areas(age appropriate) included in our daily activities.
